Meeting: June 10, 2008 and June 24, 2008 at the Sirloin Stockade Restaurant. June 10th will be installation of officers.

Activities :

The Columbus Lions Club, Inc. was chartered by Lions Clubs International on April 17, 1944. The Club has served Columbus and the Barththolomew County area continuously ever since that date. The Columbus Lions Club has provided funds and awards for local activities and charities. Some of the local activities supported are; Boys & Girls Baseball & Softball, 4-H Fairgrounds Building Fund, College Scholarships for High School Seniors, Eye Glasses for the needy, Fellowship Bingo for the Elderly, and many others as the need arises. Some local charities supported are; Love Chapel, Humane Society, Volunteers in Medicine, Hospice of Bartholomew County, Columbus Area Arts Council, Turning Point, Horizon House, First Step, ETC. State and International Projects supported are; L.C.I.F., Lions Quest, Youth Exchange, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Indiana Lions Eye & Tissue Bank, Cancer Control, Speech & Hearing, Peace Poster Contest, Eye Glass and Hearing Aid Recycling, Camp Woodsmoke, Gamma Knife at the IU Med. Center, others as they become known. The Columbus Lions Club chief fund raiser is a Concession Stand at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds. The stand is open during the 4-H Fair and on Saturdays from April to September for Go-Kart Races at the fairgounds. We are now selling Rada Cutlery. This is an on going project.
